The article is devoted to the activities of Soviet Trade Representation in India in 1953-1964. A trade representation is one of the integral elements of bilateral economic cooperation. The purpose of the article is to identify key areas and priorities of Soviet trade mission in India. The intensive development of relations between Russia and India particularly in the field of economy highlights the relevance of the research. The basis for Indo-Russian relations was established during the analysed period. The trade representation of the USSR in India opened in 1953 became an essential tool in forging the ties between two stated. The research is based on documentary and historical analysis. A number of archival documents used in the article has not been studied before. The result was the definition of the main activities of the Soviet Trade Representation in India. The result of the study is definition of the main spheres of Soviet trade representation in India.
