Akaev A.A. is a prominent scientist in the field of quantum electronics, holography and optical computer information processing. At the beginning of his scientific activity, he proposed and developed a method that allowed him to solve the important task of ensuring the reliable operation of integrated ferrite storage devices for on-board electronic computers. Developing a new scientific direction in the field of optical technology at the junction with quantum electronics, optical holography and computer technology, he created a constructive theory, methods for calculating and optimizing the parameters of high-capacity holographic storage devices, as well as the synthesis of holograms on electronic computers. These fundamental results were presented in the monograph "Coherent optical computing machines".

Another important scientific direction developed by A.A. Akaev is the development of the theory and principles of building optoelectronic information processing systems. The results obtained by him are presented in the monograph "Optical methods of information processing".

He is the author of more than 150 scientific papers. The scientific works of A.A. Akaev and his students have been published in many well-known international publications.

Akaev A.A. is an honorary member of a number of academies and scientific societies: the New York Academy, the Islamic Academy of Sciences, etc. Honorary Professor of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Honorary Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Full member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
