The article discusses a new form of economic activity, which is defi ned as the gig economy, resulting from the transformation of the employment sector under the infl uence of digital technologies, determines its place and role in stimulating economic growth, shows its opportunities and problems, and identifies ways to overcome them. Th e authors explore the socio-economic paradoxes and problems of the modern period of the gig economy and suggest ways to promote high-quality and sustainable development of the gig economy.
